So we all know bomber jackets are trendy AF this year. And while I appreciated them, I wasn't so keen on picking up one of my own. That is, until I found "the one."
We met on a balmy (read: oppressively hot) Saturday afternoon on the top floor of the Cooper Design Space in Downtown LA. I was perusing the vintage wonderland that is A Current Affair, when I came upon a series of mannequins sporting looks curated by the show's hosts. There it was, artfully draped over a cream silk dress, a bomber so perfect, so unique, so terribly on brand, it was love at first sight. Throw in a reasonable price and the rest, as they say, is history.
Alright, enough with the fairytale conceit and onto the outfit. For a day of adventuring around Abbot Kinney, I threw on a tank, some old Urban Outfitters high waist jeans, suede Sam Edelman ankle boots, and a vintage belt.
This silver mesh belt is one of my favorite thrift store finds. For under seven bucks it's quite substantial, and it's got a western vibe that's a little more unique than your traditional silver buckle/leather belt combo.
To cap off the look, I added my grandmother's vintage bandana to my bag for a little extra flair and a pair of wayfarers to keep out the SoCal sun. It wasn't a day for subtlety. I can't wait to try out some different looks with this jacket.
How do you feel about bomber jackets? Have you ever been cool on a trend only to have one special piece change your mind?
